Art
in the park was held on October 27 at the Boaz
Elementary School "Grand Gatherings Gazebo." It
was a fundraiser presented by Compassionate Kids for
Katrina, which was sponsored by the BCSS 21st Century
Community Learning Center and in coordination with
"Lights on After School", AfterSchool Alliance.
All
proceeds were raised to benefit the Alba
Elementary School in Bayou La Barte, Alabama which was
damaged by hurricane Katrina. Original student works of
art were available for purchase. Everyone in the
community was invited to attend. The fundraiser
was a great success in that we were able to raise
$275.00 which will aid Alba Elementary in
purchasing student supplies. We would also like to
thank all of the parents, students, and teachers, for
their hard work and dedication to this project!!
