Mrs. Misty Sumners

Mrs. Sumners is an assistant principal at Boaz High School. She is beginning her 18th year in education. Mrs. Sumners has had the opportunity to teach and work in all five of our schools in Boaz City Schools. She has seen students begin in Kindergarten and knows what skills are required to help them be successful graduates ready for college and/or career. Mrs. Sumners earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville State University in 2001, her Master of Arts degree from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide) in 2004, and she completed her Education Specialist degree from Jacksonville State University in August 2016. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Exceptional Needs Specialist.

Mrs. Sumners and her husband Andy have been married for 18 years. They have 2 children, Noah and Maggie, that attend Boaz Middle School. Noah is in the 7th grade and Maggie is in the 6th grade. Mrs. Sumners and her family live on a farm and raise South Poll cattle. They also have 2 poultry houses.

Mrs. Sumners is a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Boaz, where she also teaches sunday school.
