Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Billa Springfield

Billa Springfield has been a Boaz Pirate since moving to Boaz in the third grade.  She is a graduate of Boaz High School and Snead State Community College.  Mrs. Springfield went on to graduate with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education/Social Sciences and a Master's degree in Instructional Media from Jacksonville State University.  She has been a librarian for 27 years; first as a children's librarian at Boaz Public Library, then an elementary school librarian at Asbury School, Corley Elementary School and Boaz Intermediate School.

Mrs. Springfield is married to Kelly Springfield, a Boaz graduate and a retired Alabama State Trooper.  Mr. Springfield is also the School Resource Officer for Boaz Elementary and Corley Elementary.  They have one daughter, Kasey, who has a degree in Health Information Technology and works as a coder for a local doctor's office.  They also have two pets; a "sweet" golden retriever named Darcy and a "not-so-sweet" gray cat named Dewey! They are members of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.

Going to the beach as many times as possible is one of Mrs. Springfield's favorite activities.  She also loves books and loves to read! But most of her students will tell you that Mrs. Springfield's favorite thing is chocolate!
