It is the mission of the Boaz City School's Guidance and Counseling department to ensure that all students benefit from a comprehensive counseling and guidance program that supports the development and well-being of all students in our district.

The Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Plan for Boaz City Schools was created to illustrate our commitment to a planned, purposeful, and sequential program of guidance and counseling for all students, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.  It was designed to reflect the four main components in this department:  foundation, delivery, management, and accountability with a goal of ensuring student success in the academic, career, and personal/social developmental domains.

We believe that counseling and guidance is an essential components of the instructional support services provided for our students in our system.  It is imperative learning support that must be incorporated in order to address the current barriers, both external and internal, to teaching and learning in our schools.  We believe that every student is entitled to a certified guidance counselor whose primary commitment is to the students and provides the essential elements to help meet the students' academic, career, and personal/social needs.
