After becoming a mother, she completed a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama in 2012. Mrs. Lancaster was the librarian at Attalla Elementary before coming to Boaz Elementary in 2014. She is married to Jonathan Lancaster and has two children, Kathryn and Aaron.
PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students come to the library every week for a library class. Students learn age-appropriate literacy information skills that foster a love for reading and reinforce language arts standards. Library lessons include whole-group read alouds and technology resources. In addition, students explore makerspaces which are creative learning centers. Mrs. Lancaster works closely with each grade level to ensure that teachers have library resources that coordinate with their units of study to use in individual classrooms.
