Mrs. Misty Sumners

Mrs. Sumners teaches special education/intervention classes in reading and math at Boaz Intermediate School. She is also the IEP Coordinator for Boaz City Schools. She is beginning her 16th year in special education. Mrs. Sumners earned her bachelors degree from Jacksonville State University in 2001, her masters degree from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide) in 2004, and most recently, completed her EdS degree from Jacksonville State University in August 2016. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Exceptional Needs Specialist.

Mrs. Sumners and her husband Andy have been married for 16 years. They have 2 children, Noah and Maggie, that attend Boaz Intermediate School. Noah will be in the 5th grade and Maggie will be in the 4th grade. Mrs. Sumners and her family live on a farm and raise South Poll cattle. They also have 2 poultry houses.

Mrs. Sumners is a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She enjoys the beach, watching movies, and shopping.
