Mrs. Aida Beard
Aida Josefina Beard was born in a little rural village in Venezuela. She graduated from high school in 1974 with a specialty in humanities. Soon after graduating high school, Aida worked as a first grade teacher for almost three years in a rural area of Venezuela. She then attended law school and worked as a revenue officer at the office of the Minister of Finance for more than 10 years. She was later a tour guide and worked in a tourist agency.
In 1989, Aida applied to the Alabama Language Institute at Gadsden State Community College and received a student visa. After finishing her English classes, she obtained her Associate's Degree from Gadsden State. In 2006, she received a Bachelor's of Science in Spanish Education from Jacksonville State University. Aida proudly became a U.S. citizen in 2007 and currently lives with her husband in Gadsden.
Aida teaches the English Language Learners at Boaz Elementary School and works closely with the Migrant Program for Boaz City Schools. She is very passionate about her job and strives to know each and every one of her student's families. Aida loves teaching elementary students and is very involved in the Boaz community.
