Mrs. Alexa Casey

Welcome! I am a proud Boaz Pirate, and I look forward to a wonderful school year!

A little about me: I graduated as Valedictorian from J.B. Pennington High School in May of 2010. I graduated from Wallace State Community College with my Associate in Science degree in 2012. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Jacksonville State University with my Bachelor of Secondary English Education in May of 2015. I am a dog person, and I love helping rescue organizations. I am currently working with SOS Beagle Rescue of Alabama to foster a cheagle named Loki back to health. I love rollercoasters and have a membership to Six Flags Over Georgia. I love antique and thrift shopping, and my favorite store is Dirt Cheap. :)

I married the love of my life, Alex, on July 13, 2017, and we currently reside in Southside with our two beagle puppies, Boomer and Tux.

This will be my fifth year teaching and my second year at Boaz High School. I have truly fallen in love with the students, school, and community of Boaz. It feels like home.

My ultimate goal as an educator is to help my students, whether it's through writing about how they feel, digging deeper into a piece of literature, debating on real world topics, or simply figuring out what they want to do with their futures. I aspire for my students to grow into avid readers, thinkers, communicators, and future citizens of the world.
