Mrs. Christina Mayes

Mrs. Christina Mayes began teaching in 2009. Although her degree is in Elementary Education, she has spent the majority of her career teaching special needs and at-risk students. She started her career at Boaz High School teaching graduation exam remediation from 2009-2011. She then moved to Gadsden Job Corps Center and taught GED and Penn Foster High School from 2012-2014. She also taught fourth grade reading intervention at Albertville Elementary. From there, Mrs. Mayes taught Reading, Math, Honors Math, and English Language Arts at Jones Valley Elementary. She returned to Boaz High School in 2017 to work with special education students. This is her first year teaching Intervention and ACCESS at Boaz High School. Christina is a graduate of Crossville High School and received her Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Snead State Community College and her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Athens State University. She lives in Boaz with her husband, Scott, and their two daughters, Becca and Bella. Her family likes to spend time camping, kayaking, and playing with their dog.
