Board of Education
The Boaz City Board of Education believes that the mission of the Boaz City School System is to prepare each student to his or her full potential mentally, physically, emotionally, socially, morally, and ethically for a happy, well-adjusted, and productive life in our democratic society.
The Boaz City Board of Education is established under authority of state law for the purpose of exercising general supervision and administration of the public schools serving school age children who reside within the attendance zone for the Boaz City School System, and of promoting the interests of the Boaz City Schools and the children they serve.
The Boaz City Board of Education is composed of five (5) members who are appointed to five year staggered terms by the Boaz City Council.

Allison Brewster
Allison was born and raised in Pelham, AL, and moved to the Sand Mountain area in 2010. She graduated from UAB in 2010, worked as an ER/Trauma nurse at UAB, and then locally as a home health nurse while completing her graduate degree. She completed her graduate degree with Honors in Nursing from Troy University, specializing in Family Medicine, in 2017. She has been board certified through the American National Nurse Practitioners Association since 2017 and is currently practicing Family Medicine at Sand Mountain Family Practice in Albertville, AL.
Allison has been married to Robert Brewster since 2010 and the couple has three children, all Boaz Pirates, ages 10, 8, and 5. They stay active supporting her husband's coaching career and watching their children play various sports- softball, gymnastics, dance, volleyball, baseball, and flag football. When they are not at a sporting event, they love to travel and be outside swimming, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. The family has attended Church of the Highlands since early 2000 and Allison loves serving in the Haven ministry for special needs children and being a part of the First Responders team.
Rhonda Smith
Mrs. Rhonda Smith was appointed to the Boaz City School System Board of Education in June 2014, and reappointed in 2019. Rhonda has been married to her husband Damon for 33 years, and they have 3 children who are all graduates of Boaz High School. In 1996 Rhonda and her family relocated to Boaz from Montgomery. Rhonda served on the Boaz Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2004 - 2013, serving as chairman in 2012 - 2013. She is also a member of the 2009 Marshall County Leadership Challenge. She is an active member of First Baptist Church in Boaz. Rhonda received her undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama and her Masters of Education-Dyslexia Therapy from Mississippi College. She is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (specializing in Dyslexia) and serves as the Director of Education Services for the Dyslexia Resource Center.
Chad Cofield
Mr. Chad Cofield was appointed to the Boaz City School System Board of Education in June of 2016. He is a graduate of Boaz High School (1992) and has a BA in Mass Communications from Jacksonville State University. He is married to his wife Randi, and they have two children. Mr. Cofield is a Project Manager with FMGI in Albertville. He also serves as a Deacon at Beulah Baptist Church.
Sloan Limbaugh
Mr. Sloan Limbaugh was appointed to the Boaz City Board of Education in June 2022. He and his wife, April, have lived in Boaz for 10 years. They have three daughters who are involved in many activities in the community. Mr. Limbaugh graduated from Childersburg High School before earning a Business Management degree from the University of Alabama. He has worked in the automotive finance sector since 2009. He enjoys coaching youth sports and teaching children’s classes at church.
Caleb Williams
Mr. Caleb Williams was appointed to the Boaz City School Board of Education in June 2023. He was born and raised in Boaz and graduated from Boaz High School in in 2012. He then attended Jacksonville State University where he graduated with his BS in Marketing in 2017. He began his career in the environmental products industry until he moved back to Boaz in 2021 and started his career in insurance. He is currently an agent at the Will Penton Agency - Alfa Insurance in downtown Boaz.
Caleb has been married to his high school sweetheart, Hailey, since 2018 and together they have a son and a daughter on the way. They love traveling, cheering on the Jacksonville State Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves. Caleb is an active member Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Aroney and member of the Boaz Civitan Club.
