Extended Day services are currently not available for the 2020-21 school year but will hopefully begin again when circumstances allow.
Students from Boaz Elementary, Corley Elementary, and Boaz Intermediate Schools have the opportunity to participate in the Extended Day program after school on the BES campus. Extended Day is offered after every regular school day until 5:30p.m.
The program is child-centered and focuses on the development of social skills, intellectual curiosity, self-esteem, and a sense of responsibility for one's own actions. Extended Day is a safe and fun place to learn and explore. Afternoon activities include snack time, free and organized play, games, super science, art, music, sports, homework assistance, and many more enrichment activities. The Extended Day staff members serve as positive role models and provide care that is supportive, nurturing, and responsive to each child's individual needs.
There is a yearly registration fee of $25.00 per family ($12.50 if enrolling in January). The daily cost is based on the child's lunch status. If a student receives free or reduced lunch, the daily rate for Extended Day is $4.00. If a student pays a regular lunch price, the daily rate for Extended Day is $7.00. If a parent is late picking up a child, there is an additional fee of $1.00 per minute past 5:30p.m. Registration forms can be dropped off at the BES school office.
